BEST OF LFW SS2013: FELDER FELDER

Feminine but a little off-kilter is what Felder Felder is going for. Definitely a more matured collection from their previous rocker-inspired seasons, but still something very wearable for everyone with the use of printed silks and chiffon detailed dresses.

BEST OF LFW SS2013: CHRISTOPHER KANE

Oooh.. a mix of Frankenstein references (bandages, bows, straitjackets) with pastels and sequins. You could only expect something this funky but feminine to come from a mastermind like Christopher Kane. I really don't know how he pulled it off but it worked!

BEST OF SPRING 2013: PROENZA SCHOULER

You can tell a Proenza Schouler design by its modern take on prints, textures and colours. This collection was no different. I loved that it became a 'random' mix of everything and still everything ties in so well. Loved the use of the digital print dresses at the end with the grommet details. The PS girl is always cool & modern.

BEST OF SPRING 2013: ALEXANDER WANG

Leather, all sort of ways! Cutouts & strips, A. Wang has created a whole new tribe of Amazonian women in skins.

BEST OF SPRING 2013: JASON WU

I loved it! Loved it!
Sexy femme fatale meets feminine - lace/ leather/sheer with cutouts and yet still retaining the femininity in all of his clothes. And of course his signature show stopping gowns at the end - full of wispy tulle & sheer chiffons.

BEST OF SPRING 2013: VICTORIA BECKHAM

Bold. Sharp. Wearable. Not much needed to understand why VB's clothing line is a hit with the buyers.

BEST OF SPRING 2013: RUFFIAN

Romantic florals x streetwear! Converse sneakers, casual jackets, knit overalls & flouncy tiered floral dresses. I love mix & matching high- low outfits that you can wear from day to night & still have a personality! Great job!

THIS WEEK IN FASHION: SINGAPORE

Wow.. a barrage of fashion events happening locally this week!

First up, my ex-schoolmate runs an online store called Social is having a fashion show & pop-up store at Lucky13 tonight. Selling brands from SoCal (southern California) and other countries, the aesthetic is decidedly bright & peppy. Not unlike the brilliant weather that California gets year round.

Then, this session of MAAD is running a collaboration with 20byTWO, as a Singapore & Malaysia fashion exchange during this round of their monthly bazaar/flea market. It features 10 local brands like Al&Alicia and Amen, as well as 10 Malaysian brands for a pop-up store, curated by Tongue in Chic & Fashionspace. 7 & 8 Sept Red Dot Design Museum.

And of course, not to forget the designers at Parco Next Next are throwing a party to launch their AW2012/2013 collections. With up & coming designers like Kae Hana & Mash-Up, this is guaranteed to be a fun night! 8 Sept 2012 Parco Next Next at Millenia Walk.

Meanwhile, I'll try my best to hit up all the events if I can! I do know for a fact that US is having Fashion Night Out as well on 6 Sept that will kick start their Fashion Week festivities. Of course the fashion circus then heads out to London, Paris & Milan throughout the whole of September. And yes, I did think about going out there myself to hang outside the tents/venues, snap some pictures of impossibly well put together fashionistas etc and well call it work/research.. But I think I'm going to stay put for now and well, enjoy my own birthday today!
