Marc Jacobs, Prada, Christopher Kane. 3 fashion greats predict where the trends lie for Fall/Winter 2011 fashion. Apparently, there will be lots of latex/plastic, sequins (not small ones, but those HUGE paillette sequins, mind you), and jackets with lots of rounded shoulders.

Somehow Marc Jacob's collection reminded me of Prada's SP11 collection of minimal baroque in terms of the silhouettes.

Loved the dropped waist + belt combo! Been hoping that I would see some dropped waist silhouettes for Fall 2011.

Christopher Kane is just pure genius. Maybe not that wearable, but he definitely is a game changer.

New York Fashion Week is the one fashion week that I follow pretty closely, mostly due to my favourites - Proenza Schouler. Alexander Wang & Band of Outsiders. Didn't quite like the A. Wang & Band of Outsiders collections this time round, but think that the collections from Proenza Schouler, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Julian Louie & Yigal Azrouel that are being featured really showed off some of the trends of color blocking, use of bold colours and structured shapes.

However, I definitely think Proenza Schouler had one of the best collections with their bold colours, the blown-up geometric prints and the whole Santa Fe vibe. Made me think of those classic Pendelton bags that are currently being revived by Opening Ceremony store in the US. But everything the PS guys touch turns to gold, they know exactly how to cater to their customer and make sure that everything still looks fresh, wearable and never overly "crafty" or "ethnic". Sorry Anthropologie!!:p

Think 3.1 Phillip Lim did pretty well with the bold & minimal concept. I love all the details on the raglan sleeves, the cropped pants and just how everything was simple & clean but still very fun to wear!

Julian Louie's collection exuded a similar bold & minimal vibe but in a more preppy casual kind of way. I've always like this designer because of his clean lines.

Yigal Azrouel's collection was very menswear influenced, not just in the tailoring and silhouettes but the colours that have been spotted for FW2011 men's collections in Paris as well. I love the neon pink and how the more muted tans, teals and greens meshed with all the other bold colours.

Been so backlogged, been wanting to post this for ages too!.. Love how Rumi wears her cropped Alexander Wang sweater under so many layers of long sleeves/jackets/dresses. I can't figure out how many layers she is actually wearing there. Great great mix~
Trying to experiment with layering myself - cropped tops over dresses, long drapey tanks over other tank tops/dresses with a belt, layering dresses over dresses. Not such a fun thing to do in the tropics, but hey we have to try. Just love how you can get inspired from someone else's style that makes me & no doubt everyone of you want to try to pull it off too. Of course, the point is to take the idea only & recreate it in your way. Have fun experimenting!

URARAA launch

Hey guys,

Been so busy lately due to the launch of my online shop! I held a couple of preview sales at my house over a few weekends earlier this month and invited some friends and family over to shop the merchandise, snack on cupcakes and pies and just hang out. Here are some photos of the sales. And yes if you want to take a look at the site, here's the URL: We ship internationally! I'll put up a "Shop URARAA" button soon on my blog too:)
