INSPIRATION: VALENTINO RETROSPECTIVE

Been so busy lately, haven't had time to do some proper posting. However, I did head to the Valentino Retrospective exhibit over the weekend with my girlfriends. The exhibit featured 100 haute couture looks from throughout Valentino's 50 years in fashion. It was great to see the pieces in such close view from his earliest designs to the latest evening gowns worn by celebrities like Julia Roberts and Halle Berry. The attention was detail was spectacular -all the intricate embroidery, sequins, embellishments and unique construction details. The timeless quality of his work meant that any of these vintage pieces could be easily tweaked just a little to suit today's trends. It was definitely a treat for the eyes!

COLOUR ME CRAZY!

Looking at the photos already from Men's Fashion week in Milan, you just get this joyous feeling that Spring's around the corner. Well okay, technically we don't have any seasons here, but I'm waiting for some bright new clothes to wear! I really like how everyone manages to squeeze a pop of colour under their winter coat And you know what they say about the economy when designers start predicting hyper coloured collections! Yes, waiting for my stocks on Etrade to skyrocket!:Pp

WHAT TO WEAR TO AN ART FAIR: ART STAGE SINGAPORE 2011

Could have killed myself for not bringing at camera to Art Stage Singapore. I didn't, but alas no photos!
The art fair was pretty amazing though with great pieces from international artists like David Lachapelle, Murakami and other lesser known Asian artists as well.

Organized by the former director from Art Basel, the show definitely had a great vibe & an even more interesting audience. Funky, international and classy, not unlike some of these great street chic shots from Art Basel in Miami from Elle.com. You know what I mean? (Why didn't I bring a camera?)

LA PLACARD FEATURE

Thanks to the lovely Sylvie & Elizabeth at La Placard, my closet & outfits were featured on their blog!
When I moved back home last year, I took over my room & old closets again. And as a result, it still contains mismatched hangers and some very, very old clothes. Not something I'm very proud of, but nonetheless, it holds many interesting treasures to me - items that I've picked up from the different places that I've lived in and the different stages of my life. Definitely not as slick as my walk-in wardrobe in LA, but a wardrobe full of amazing memories! It was definitely very difficult to choose what items to talk about in my wardrobe. Don't suppose I'm the only one who gets sentimental about such things!

HOSIER LANE

Melbourne has some of the most amazing street art, and some of them can be found in a little laneway in the city called Hosier Lane. Here are some more photos from my trip. Never fail to get inspired by the colours & graphics of street art.

PRADA 2011 CAMPAIGN SHOOT

Arizona Muse photographed by Steven Meisel.
Look at that awkward neck! It looks like her head has been twisted around backwards, but ah,... perfection in a photo! It's weird how a strange detail like this can make the fashion world (or just me) swoon, but isn't it true that we live for the weird & wonderful?
