Friday Roundup: Pavonine, Alldressedup & Opening Ceremony/ACE Hotel

My friend from LA started a clothing line called Pavonine with her sister & another friend last year, and they've been having great response to their line so far. It's already been picked up by many specialty boutiques in LA & NYC & revolve.com. And now, they've just been picked up by Urban Outfitters, where several of their cool dresses & tops are selling exclusively online at Urban Outfitters, retailing around USD$128-$188. How great is that! I'm amazed at their wonderful success for such a new and young clothing line.

I also read on Urban today that the Singapore label Alldressedup has been picked up by Anthropologie in the US. They will be selling bags from Alldressedup's FW2010 collection both online and in their retail stores. These retail around SGD$679.
I'm always excited when our local brands get spotlighted overseas.

Hmm, this also makes me wonder what kind of marketing/merchandising strategy URBN Inc, the parent company of both Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters is pushing for?The inclusion of these 2 higher priced brands are shifting prices up from their lower ranges in these stores.

Opening Ceremony now has an Opening Ceremony-Ace Hotel shop-within-a-shop on its website. Carrying quirky items that are found in the OC gift shops at the actual Ace Hotels like Band of Outsiders pjs, keds for opening ceremony sneakers, a travel kit emblazoned with the Opening Ceremony logo, you can now buy all these items online, even if you haven't stayed at ACE hotel in Palm Springs, Portland, Seattle, or NYC. Cool cool!
